I designed this pattern but it is the first one in a long time that I have tried to write directions to. If anyone would like to try it and send feedback regarding the instructions, I would appreciate it. I hope that it is easy to understand. Anyway, I hope you like it.

I used Bernat Satin Sport. Red, White and Blue
Size hook: H
Size: Newborn
Chain 3 at beginning of rounds counts as dc.
Stitches used:
fpdc=front post double crochet
bpdc=back post double crochet
With Red, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 11 dc in ring. Sl st in 3rd ch beginning ch 3 to join.(12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around. Join as before.(24 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st,* repeat between * around. Join. (36)
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 2 sts,* repeat between * around. Join. (48)
Rnd 5 & 6: Sc in each st around. (48)Fasten off.
Rnd 7: Join white with *long sc in sc of rnd 5, long sc in dc of rnd 4,* repeat between * around. 24 long sc and 24 extra long sc. (48)
Rnd 8: Sc in each st around. (48)
Rnd 9: Ch 3, 1 dc, backwards in last sc of rnd 8, *sk 1 dc, 1dc in next st, 1 dc backwards in skipped dc,* repeat between * around.
Rnd 10 & 11: Sc in each st around. (48 sc)Fasten off.
Rnd 12: Repeat rnd 7.
Rnd 13: Ch 3, 1 dc in each st around. Join.
Rnd 14: Ch 3, *fpdc in next dc, bpdc in next st,* Sc in each st around. (48)
Rnd 15 & 16: Ch 3, *fpdc around next fpdc, bpdc in next bpdc,* Sc in each st around. (48)Fasten off.
